Herbs, alcohol, and water are measured and placed in a glass jar.
Jar is stored in the apothecary and given a few shakes every day to mix the contents.
Herbs are left in the jar for a minimum of six weeks to macerate.

I’m an herbalist, a mom, and the owner of Matriarch Herbs. I began my herbal studies in 2015 after the unexpected death of my brother. Searching for a way to heal my heart, I found the Self-Heal School of Herbal Studies and Healing, where I discovered the magic of plants and how they can be used as medicine. I completed my training in Clinical Herbalism at the Self-Heal School in 2018 and have been working with plants ever since.
In 2019 I found out I was pregnant! I started mixing herbs, making salves, and preparing body oils, so I could have a botanical postpartum experience. In the early days after my daughter was born, I used herbs to help my body recover from birth and continued to call on them in the sleepless months to come. I wanted to help other new moms feel supported and cared for in those early days of postpartum and onward in their mothering journey, so I started Matriarch Herbs.
